The crown jewel of Fresno's hottest nightlife neighborhood, the Tower Theatre lends its name to an area which has been a community focus of arts and entertainment for generations.

Opened in 1939 as a 20th Century Fox Movie House the theater was restored in 1990 and reopened as a center for the performing arts. In 1992, the theatre was placed on the National Register of Historic Places. Considered to be the finest facility of its kind in California, the Tower Theatre boasts an authentic art deco theme throughout the interior and exterior. The covered foyer of Italian Terrazo, as well as the adjoining lobby with its beautiful historic Carvarts glass etching, serve as a mingling area for patrons between acts. It is also conveniently available for refreshments or concession sales.

Anchored by the theatre, the Tower District has seen a booming resurgence with many new restaurants and clubs opening within a four mile radius. The theatre is located at the central intersection of Wishon and Olive avenues, relatively close to the Fresno-Yosemite International Air Terminal, Freeway 41, Hwy 99, and major hotels.

The theatre is a 1940's moderne deco masterpiece. Located directly adjacent on either side of the theatre are Pinot Wine Bar & Bistro, Tower Cafe, and just across the street is Roger Rocka's Dinner Theatre. Within a short walking distance are Livingstone's Bar & Grill, The 2nd Space Theatre, Grandmarie's Chicken Pie Shop, Sequoia Brewing Company, Irene's Cafe, Starbuck's Coffee, Veni Vidi Vici, Cuca's Mexican, Me-n-Ed's Pizza Parlor, and many other great Tower District dining spots.

Asleep At The Wheel
with
The Easy Leaves

Asleep At The Wheel

Can a Wheel reinvent itself while it’s still rolling?

Sounds like an impossible task -- but you never want to say “impossible”
to Asleep at the Wheel, the famed western-swing, boogie, and roots-music
outfit that’s, amazingly, still on the upswing. That’s saying something,
too, considering the group’s been around for nearly 40 years, turning out
an incredible 25+ albums while playing an unrelenting schedule of
one-nighters that would make a vaudevillian dizzy. Check out this amazing band's website to watch their music videos.

The Easy Leaves

American Times by The Easy Leaves

"Old Standards, New Directions" is a mighty fine slogan for the The Easy Leaves - Or New American Music from the Western Edge. Full-Spectrum Americana also does the trick - A modern acoustic sound, its roots kept close to the chest while tirelessly sprawling out in new directions that stretch the borders of the Country genre in exciting ways. Don't miss 'em! Listen to the group's new LP, American Times, catch them performing a street corner concert on You Tube, and visit the group's website for more info.

Caravanserai
The legendary music of Carlos Santana

Caravanserai - The Music of Santana

Experience the magic and fire of Santana as Caravanserai brings their high-energy show to the Tower Theatre. Saluting guitarist Carlos Santana and his iconic hit-making ensemble, Caravanserai delivers a high-energy re-creation of an actual Santana concert complete with an explosive Latin percussion section and featuring the precision guitar work of founder/leader Leo Herrera. Celebrate five decades of Santana music in this fitting tribute to the men who coined Latin-Rock and made it popular to the masses.

Rumours
A Tribute to the Music of Fleetwood Mac

Rumours - The Music of Fleetwood Mac

"While we try to stick to the classic album arrangements as much as possible, portraying the young Fleetwood Mac allows, and often requires us to stretch outside the confines of the song. As we have discovered, they rarely played a song the exact same way twice and we sometimes modify arrangements in the same way they did," says the band. While other Fleetwood Mac tributes exist, The Rumours Tribute Show excels in the fact that the members are age appropriate and fully committed to the Fleetwod Mac concept.
