THE TOWER THEATRE
FOR THE PERFORMING ARTS

The crown jewel of Fresno's hottest
nightlife neighborhood, the Tower Theatre lends its name to an area which has
been a community focus of arts and entertainment for generations.
Opened in 1939 as a 20th Century Fox Movie House
the theater was restored in 1990 and reopened as a center for the performing arts.
In 1992, the theatre was placed on the National
Register of Historic Places. Considered to be the finest facility of its kind
in California, the Tower Theatre boasts an authentic art
deco theme throughout the interior and exterior.
The covered foyer of Italian Terrazo, as well as the adjoining lobby with its beautiful historic Carvarts glass etching,
serve as a mingling area for patrons between acts. It is also conveniently available
for refreshments or concession sales.
Anchored by the theatre, the Tower District has seen a booming
resurgence with many new restaurants and clubs opening within
a four mile radius. The theatre is located at the central
intersection of Wishon and Olive avenues, relatively close to the Fresno-Yosemite
International
Air Terminal, Freeway 41, Hwy 99, and major hotels.
The theatre
is a 1940's moderne deco masterpiece.
Located directly adjacent on either side of the theatre are Palomino's Restaurant,
Tower Dogs, and just across the street is Roger Rocka's
Dinner Theatre. Within a short walking distance are Livingstone's Bar & Grill, The
2nd Space Theatre, Grandmarie's Chicken Pie Shop, Sequoia Brewing Company,
Irene's Cafe, Starbuck's
Coffee, Veni Vidi Vici, Cuca's Mexican, Me-n-Ed's
Pizza Parlor, and many other great Tower District dining spots.

Herman Rarebell came to know Fresno during a tour with the Scorpions in the 1980’s. He came back on November 4, 2011 to Fresno State for a book signing of his new biography “And Speaking of Scorpions…” co-written with Fresno State Alumnus, Michael Krikorian. The band is already recording a new album full of surprises with a very heavy and modern sound. At least one single from the new EP will be in the set. Don't miss this Hurricane! |

Performing together since 1979, Strunz & Farah are the innovators of an entirely new expression for the acoustic guitar. Decades ahead of their time, they originated an exotic style that now is widely followed.
From Costa Rica and Iran respectively, Jorge Strunz and Ardeshir Farah have brought the cultural riches of their native lands into their highly virtuosic, rhythmic, and improvisation-rich original instrumental compositions, profoundly influencing guitarists worldwide. Their meeting in 1979 marked the first time that Latin American and Middle Eastern music came together on the guitar. They remain the undisputed masters of the form they created. |

Beatles vs. Stones – A Musical Shoot Out
The British Invasion brought us the two most popular rock groups of all time, the Beatles and the Rolling Stones, as well as the liveliest debate in rock history - which band is the greatest? These two legendary bands will engage in an on-stage, mash-up duel - a musical “shoot out of the hits” if you will – featuring internationally renowned tribute bands, Abbey Road and Jumping Jack Flash.
Five alternating power sets with the two bands makes this two hour show a once-in-a-lifetime event. |
