His reputation is one of a hard, funny comic who takes no prisoners and gives the audience everything he has, in every show he does. Internationally Acclaimed & Celebrated Pianist, Composer & Humanitarian Keiko Matsui Marks 30th Anniversary Of Recording Debut With Journey To The Heart
Matsui Continues to Find Inspiration Reinventing Her Sound & Ensemble-Embarking On New Chapter
"Keiko Matsui is appreciated not just as an artist but as a humanitarian. She dedicates every song she writes to causes that move her..."-NPR
One of the hardest tasks in creating an album is naming it. I know that might sound odd, but it is what it is. This time it was not the case. "Still Euge", my tenth solo project (why are we so enamored at whole numbers like that?), perfectly sums up my feelings while making this disc. First, "Still" represents me being able to be me! What I was going for on the album is exactly what I was going for 16 years ago when Euge Groove came out. It's smooth jazz and I'm proud to call it that."
From the first note, Lindsey Webster captivates listeners. Her rich, soulful voice enchants a dedicated following who connect with the raw emotion she shares with them. As a Soul R&B artist, she combines an admirable natural talent with a genuine, accessible stage presence.
It has been an exciting past year for Guitarist Adam Hawley, who’s debut record “Just The Beginning” was released on March 18. All three of Adam’s singles have topped the charts to become #1 hits. And, Adam has been named both Smooth Jazz News and JazzTrax Debut Artist of the Year.
There’s a science to assembling the parts, and Tommy Emmanuel’s technical gift has earned him multiple awards from Guitar Player magazine and made him a Member of the Order of Australia, an honor bestowed by the Queen in his homeland. But the average fan could listen without even considering the precision behind the work, focusing instead on the artful tension and release of Emmanuel’s melodies. That’s how he intends it.
“I write as if I’m writing for a singer,” he explains. “I don’t think, ‘Ah, it’s just a solo guitar piece.’ I try to imagine I’m playing with a band or with a singer, but then I play the whole thing as a solo piece and look for ways to give it space.”
*Note: Tommy Emmanuel's CGP designation stands for "Certified Guitar Player" – the title given by the great Chet Atkins to only 5 guitarists in the entire world.
Before Mötley Crüe, before RATT, even before there was a Metallica, Y&T was slogging away in sweaty rock clubs around America. When the band formed in the early 1970s, little did they know they would set the standard for hard rock bands that trailed. Many of the biggest acts of the '80s became popular opening for headliners Y&T—and cut their teeth on the band, as evidenced by the Y&T mentions in tell-all books by acts such as Metallica and Mötley Crüe.
Band Members: Ray Appleton-Bass, Jason Barnett-Guitar,
Jon Kapetan-Vocals, Marc Kapetan-Guitar, Daniel Burt-Drums

Some people are just born communicators and Lucas Hoge has that gift. Fans know this because Hoge's new album Dirty South ascended to the No. 1 spot on the Billboard Country Album Sales chart during its debut week. Hoge's title track "Dirty South" is also currently climbing the charts and gaining momentum at country radio.
His new EP is the culmination of years of hard work, writing incessantly and performing for crowds all over the world. “I feel I’ve been hoeing my row for a long time and I’ve stayed true to exactly who I am,” he says. “I’m just going to be a nice guy and put good out there and hopefully get good back because that’s how mom and dad taught me. I’m going to cling to my roots and keep my head about myself. I just want to be the best me I can be.”
Aja Vu has long performed the music of Steely Dan and now they've added a generous set of Chicago favorites to a show of stellar and totally classic music. That's right: one great band, two great tributes.
Now you can hear songs you know and love played live! From Reelin in the Years and Hey 19, to Saturday in the Park and 25 or 6 to 4, they perform the music with pure love for the harmonies and classic horns of the original recordings.
Credited with launching American folk music into mainstream popularity, the legendary Kingston Trio topped the charts in the 1960s with songs from the storytelling “Tom Dooley” to the humorous “Tijuana Jail.” Their iconic sound influenced the musical tastes of a generation, paving the way for the folk singers who followed.
While hits such as “M.T.A.” and “Where Have All The Flowers Gone?” fit the music-with-a-message era and remain relevant today, part of their charm isthat they never take themselves too seriously. Awarded the Lifetime Achievement Grammy Award in 2011, the Kingston Trio’s songs sound as good today as they did when they first soared up the radio playlists. Any evening spent with the tight harmonies and smooth vocals of the Kingston Trio is about more than just memories, it’s memorable.

Lee Ann Womack's new album The Lonely, The Lonesome & The Gone begins, appropriately, with just her voice. "All the Trouble" starts with a nearly acapella verse from Womack, evoking an eerie calm that foreshadows the track's forthcoming lyrical storm. By track's end, her vocals sparkle like lightning, sinewy gold melodies crackling against a rough and tumble backdrop.
On this new LP, though, Womack reminds us that she's much more than just a pretty voice. Start-to-finish, The Lonely, The Lonesome & The Gone has a cinematic quality to it, one buoyed both by lush, dynamic arrangements and by a skillfully executed sequence, which effortlessly ebbs and flows between torch songs and Texas twang giving equal credence to the bedroom and the bar.

“Feral blues guitar...non-stop gigging has sharpened his six-string to a razor’s edge...his eloquence dazzles...he achieves pyrotechnics that rival early Jeff Beck and Eric Clapton.”
